2nd half 2010 property taxes due Nov. 1
October 19, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Doug Lasher, Clark County Treasurer, stated that second-half 2010 property taxes are due on Monday, November 1, because October 31 falls on a Sunday this year. “If you have not received your 2010 second-half tax statement or have lost it, you can visit our web site at www.clark.wa.gov/treasurer or call 397-2252 for a duplicate statement.”
For web payments and payments by phone, we now accept Echeck – direct debit from checking or savings accounts with a $1 processing fee and online at www.clark.wa.gov/treasurer; or by phone at 1-877-778-4606. Debit/Credit Card carries a 2.39% processing fee whether online or by phone. The processing fee is charged by a third-party vendor. The county does not receive any of that processing fee.
First Independent Bank accepts only second-half 2010 property tax payments. These payments must be accompanied by an original current-year statement (not a duplicate). Some bank branches are open Monday through Saturday giving taxpayers an additional day during the week to make their payment. Taxpayers should check with a First Independent Bank local branch or visit www.firstindy.com for specific hours and days.
Payments may also be mailed or brought to the Treasurer’s Office. If mailing, please mail to the Clark County Treasurer, PO Box 9808, Vancouver, Washington 98666-8808. Tax payments must be postmarked by Monday, November 1, 2010, to avoid interest charges. Taxpayers are encouraged to use the return envelopes provided with their statements to mail their payments. “This is the most cost-effective method to process tax payments” Lasher stated.
