Duke Realty’s Washington, D.C. Team Reports First Quarter Leasing Activity

Washington, D.C. – April 13, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Duke Realty Corporation’s (Duke Realty) Washington, D.C. office announced today that its leasing team closed 129,845 square feet in new leases, renewals and expansions in its office and industrial properties in the first quarter of 2011.

“Leasing activity the first three months of this year has been strong with several companies becoming Duke Realty customers, and a number of our existing customers renewing and extending their leases or expanding their space,” said Peter Scholz, Senior Vice President of Duke Realty’s Washington, D.C. operations. “Our quality portfolio, our solid reputation, and our group’s willingness to work closely with customers on their unique space requirements all contributed to our solid performance.”

Duke Realty’s Washington, D.C. team of Battista Orcino, Vice President, Leasing and Development, and Chris Darling and Matt Bremner, Leasing Representatives, represented Duke Realty in all of the transactions.

  • Fortessa, Inc., a designer, developer, and marketer of quality tableware for the commercial foodservice market, extended it lease for 61,500 square feet in 22601 Davis Drive. Casey Veatch with the Charles A. Veatch Company represented Fortessa in the transaction.
  • JSI Telecom, Inc., a software company, signed two new leases with Duke Realty. The company leased 25,757 square feet in 15004 Northridge Drive and 6,720 square feet in 22714 Glenn Drive. Marc Tasker with KLNB represented JSI Telecom in the transactions.
  • UIC Technical Services, LLC, which offers expertise in program management, systems engineering/integration, weapon systems acquisition management, and other services for the government and private sector, signed three leases in Duke Realty properties. The company expanded its square footage and renewed its lease in 4900 Seminary Road, raising the total space it occupies in that building to 19,347 square feet. In addition, UIC Technical Services signed a new 450-square foot lease in 1900 N. Beauregard.
  • Two new leases also were signed for space in 1800 N. Beauregard Street. Inova Health Care-Imaging leased 6,674 square feet and Inova Physician Partners, Inc. leased 4,949 square feet. Chuck Matincheck with Donohoe Companies represented both Inova Health System entities in their transactions.
  • Schneider Electric, USA, a global energy management company, renewed its 3,452-square foot lease in 109 Carpenter Drive. Schneider Electric was represented by Ryan Miller with CB Richard Ellis in the transaction.
  • At 1900 N. Beauregard, M.C. Dean, Inc., an engineering and integration provider of electronic and telecommunications systems, leased 996 square feet.
