SEATTLE – December 28, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Gusty winds are causing scattered outages across Seattle City Light’s service territory Christmas day.

Outages are leaving more than 7,000 customers without power. Some of the largest outages are in the SeaTac and Burien areas.

Crews are responding to identify the exact locations and causes of the outages and then will make repairs.

Customers can get outage information online at www.seattle.gov/light/sysstat.

Seattle City Light is the tenth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
