Battle Ground building use must meet CDBG standards

Battle Ground, WA., November 20, 2007 – Community feedback is being sought for the future use of a Clark County building located at 701 E. Main Street, Battle Ground. One of the building’s current tenants, Children’s Home Society of Washington, will be re-locating to another site providing space for new tenants.

Other tenants now include Columbia River Mental Health Services and the Clark County Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).

Future use of the building must meet Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) requirements for low and moderate income families.

The purpose of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons.

A community meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 6-8 pm at the Battle Ground City Hall City Chambers, second floor, 109 SW 1st Street, Battle Ground.

For more information please contact Pete Munroe, Community Development Block Grant Program Manager at 360-397-2130 or by e-mail at: pete.munroe (at) clark.wa (dot) gov.
