More than 7,000 Homes, Businesses Affected by Power Outage

SEATTLE – December 28, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Gusty winds are causing scattered outages across Seattle City Light’s service territory Christmas day. Outages are leaving more than 7,000 customers without power. Some of the largest outages are in the SeaTac and Burien areas.

HUD RELEASES 2009 HOUSING SURVEY OF SEATTLE-TACOMA METROPOLITAN AREA

SEATTLE, DC – October 18, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today released its 2009 Seattle Metropolitan Area Housing Survey, the most comprehensive analysis of the area’s housing stock since the Department’s last substantive assessment in 2004. HUD estimates that there were nearly 1.5 million housing units in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties in 2009, more than 15 percent of which were constructed since 2000 (see attached data).

Seattle Prices Increase in May, But Demand Weakens and Inventory Drops

Seattle, WA – June 16, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Redfin today released new data on the King County real estate market showing that the median price of a single-family home increased 2.5% from April to May, and 2.5% year over year as well. Redfin attributes the increase in median price in part to the federal tax credit, which required buyers to be under contract on a home sale by April 30. Other metrics were weak: sales volume for King County was mixed from April to May and competition among home-buyers declined, even though the number of houses for sale dropped 5.4%
