An Evening With
Roy Blount, Jr. shares more word play with his latest work
Premieres Thursday, July 14 at 8 p.m.
Humorist and author Roy Blount, Jr. has made his living using words in every medium, print or electronic, except greeting cards. After his 21st book, Alphabet Juice, it finally seemed he’d gotten over his ABCs. But one book could not contain the etymological goulash always simmering in Blount’s mind. Alphabetter Juice, a second helping of Blount’s dexterous wordplay, prescribes an “over-the-counter” mélange of language, unearthing a slew of factoids, fripperies, and flabbergasting phenomena that will change the way you speak—or misspeak. View additional broadcasts of this show on Friday, July 15 at 11 p.m. or Saturday, July 16 at 10 p.m. Watch past episodes of An Evening With at http://www.seattlechannel.org/AnEveningWith.

Front Row
Weird and Awesome with Emmett Montgomery
Premieres Thurs., July 21, 11:00 p.m.
Like Ed Sullivan presiding over the Gong Show, or Donny & Marie produced by Andy Warhol at the height of the Factory, “Weird & Awesome with Emmett Montgomery,” is entertainment at its most human and inexplicable. This show, taped before a live audience at Annex Theatre, features members of Seattle’s rich performance and arts scene, with an emphasis on the eclectic and the unique. The performers include host and comic Emmett Montgomery, Kevin Hyder as a human puppet show, “Ziegfeld-girl” clowns, standup comedy with former “Almost Live” host John Keister and more!
