Property Taxes Due By April 30

-

Doug Lasher, Clark County Treasurer, stated that first-half property taxes are due on Wednesday, April 30. “If you have not received your 2008 first-half tax statement or have lost it, you can visit our web site at www.clark.wa.gov/treas or contact the Treasurer’s Office at 397-2252 for a duplicate statement.”

Taxpayers also have the ability to pay property taxes using a credit card. Washington statute requires a convenience fee to be charged. The convenience fee is $35.

In addition, current tax statements may also be paid at any Clark County branch of First Independent Bank. Only full-year or first-half, 2008, property tax payments can be made at First Independent Banks, and the payment must be accompanied by an original current statement (not a duplicate). Payment for delinquent taxes and assessments must be mailed or brought to the Treasurer’s Office. There are 19 First Independent Bank branches in Clark County, and some are open Monday through Saturday giving taxpayers an additional day during the week to make their payment. Taxpayers should check with their local branch for specific hours and days.

If mailing a tax payment, please mail to the Clark County Treasurer, PO Box 9808, Vancouver, Washington 98666-8808. Tax payments must be postmarked by April 30, 2008, to avoid interest charges. Taxpayers are encouraged to use the return envelopes provided with their statements to mail their payments.
