Appraisers to visit south county properties; set values for 2009

-

Vancouver, WA – Appraisers from the Clark County Assessor’s Office will be conducting onsite inspections in the south-central portion of the county from now through March to establish and verify property characteristics and conditions for use in setting values for property taxes in 2009.

The area for this year’s onsite inspections is roughly from Interstate 205 east to the Camas city limits and from Mill Plain Boulevard north to the Vancouver urban growth boundary.

During an onsite inspection, an appraiser will observe the property and the exterior of any buildings to determine if changes have been made in the physical characteristics that affect value. Changes and updated photos of the property will be recorded in the county’s records. Appraisers typically do not need access to property or structures. If access is needed, the property owner or resident will be contacted first. All county appraisers carry photo identification.

Clark County is on a state-approved, six-year cycle for property valuations. Each of six areas in the county is physically inspected every six years. Values are adjusted based on statistical information for areas that are not scheduled for physical inspections.

For more information, please contact the Assessor’s Office at (360) 397-2391 or visit the Web site at www.clark.wa.gov/assessor/index.html.
