Extends Colliers’ reach in Pacific Northwest; opens doors to new markets

OLYMPIA, Wash., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ — Colliers International, a global leader in full service commercial real estate services, today announced its acquisition of Hodges Gilliam & Dana, a leading Olympia-based investment real estate firm specializing in commercial brokerage, forestland services, and property management.

“This partnership gives Colliers depth in the expanding Olympia-South Sound market,” said Glen Esnard, president of Colliers International’s U.S. Brokerage Division. “Hodges’ expertise in opportunistic markets like forestland resources augments our existing operations in Washington State and North America and allows us to deliver more comprehensive services to our clients.”

“We are pleased to be growing Colliers’ Washington operations through smart, strategic business partnerships like the acquisition of Hodges,” said John Powers, senior managing director, state of Washington, Colliers International. “Colliers is becoming more environmentally conscious as a company and expanding its green real estate services, particularly in the Puget Sound region, where awareness and demand are strong. The addition of the Hodges team’s expertise in these areas advances these efforts.” The partnership is effective immediately with the transition of Hodges to the Colliers International brand to take place over the coming months. The addition of an office in Olympia is the fourth for Colliers International in Washington State. The company also has offices in Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma. Colliers International’s global headquarters are also located in Seattle.

“Colliers offers both a strategic and cultural fit relative to the expansion of our natural resources market,” said Troy Dana, president and CEO of Hodges Gilliam & Dana. “Colliers is already operating in the commercial markets where we want to expand our timberland practice. It made sense to align our efforts and build out a network to better serve our client base.” Piper Group International, LLC negotiated the sale and assisted in the closing.
